![]() Calloway Church held its annual Church Cookout on Saturday, September 9, 2017. The church cookout is a great time for the church and the community to come together and celebrate the joy and friendship that is Calloway Church. As with most cookouts, the draw is the food and the “fixins” and the Church Cookout hit the mark on both accounts! Central to the food was the grill, where the burgers and hot dogs were on a steady flow all day. To go along with the great meat from the grill was a wide variety of sides and treats to make the meal complete. However, the true highlight of the day was the fellowship on this beautiful September Saturday. The weather was perfect. The people in attendance created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was truly a joy to be in the midst. It was clear to see from all the smiles and laughter that everyone was really enjoying themselves. A special thanks to those who worked so hard to make this happen. Sisters Sharon, Sandra and Sheila who spent the day dotting the “I’s” and crossing the “T’s” as they attended to those essential details that make a cookout enjoyable. In addition, Brother Billy Ray for manning the grill for the day. And finally, a special thanks to all that contributed and/or attended. It truly was a fun time and a great way to spend an afternoon in early September.
